AskOpenly Press & Media
Facts, boilerplate, and media resources for journalists and analysts covering AskOpenly — the private, sovereign enterprise knowledge intelligence platform.
What is AskOpenly?
AskOpenly is a private, sovereign enterprise knowledge intelligence platform. It puts a team of specialized AI agents between a question and its answer — retrieving across an organization's own documents, reasoning over them, verifying every claim against its sources, and returning a grounded, cited answer — all running on open models inside the customer's own environment.
The category is Enterprise Knowledge Intelligence: the trustworthy context, reasoning, and governance layer that sits beneath both people and AI agents in an organization. AskOpenly's wedge is sovereignty — the same enterprise intelligence that leading cloud platforms offer, but deployed where your data lives and running on models you control.

The first wave of enterprise AI asked companies to trust a black box
To adopt AI, enterprises were asked to ship their most sensitive documents to someone else's cloud and trust an answer with no sources. In finance, healthcare, legal, engineering, and government — where a confident wrong answer is worse than no answer, and where institutional knowledge cannot leave the building — that is a non-starter.
AskOpenly was built for the organization that wants enterprise-grade knowledge intelligence and AI agents, but refuses to permanently tie its institutional knowledge to another company's cloud, models, or economics. Its answers are grounded in the organization's own sources, cited so they can be checked, governed so they respect existing permissions, and produced by models the customer owns.
A complete, governed knowledge intelligence stack — not a chatbot wrapper
Private & sovereign by design
Deploys in a dedicated private cloud, your own VPC, or fully on-prem / air-gapped. Your knowledge and models never leave your control.
Grounded, cited, verifiable
Every answer is retrieved from your sources, cited inline, and checked by a critic agent — so people can see why an answer deserves to be trusted.
Open models you control
Runs on open-weight models (Qwen, Llama, DeepSeek) via Ollama or vLLM, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — no per-vendor model lock-in.
Multi-modal, governed knowledge
One pipeline ingests PDFs, Office docs, spreadsheets, images, audio, video, web pages, and code — with RBAC, document ACLs, PII redaction, and full audit trails.
Permission-mirroring managed connectors (Google Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, Slack, Jira) and optional knowledge-graph retrieval are on the product roadmap; the permission architecture that carries source ACLs into retrieval is built in today.
What independent reviewers say
Across four independent third-party analyses conducted in 2026, technical, brand, and market reviewers converged on the same read: a technically sophisticated, sovereignty-first platform aimed at a real and underserved enterprise segment, with a category-defining brand. In one independent technical assessment, AskOpenly's data-sovereignty design was rated 9.2/10 and its overall product potential 8.7/10.
“Substantially more technically ambitious than a typical early-stage RAG product.”
“Strategically well-aimed at a real, underserved, and growing segment.”
“‘Ask openly’ → transparency → cited, auditable answers is a rare case of a name that actually does argumentative work.”
Quotations are drawn from independent third-party technical, brand, and market assessments of AskOpenly conducted in 2026, and reflect the assessors' views. AskOpenly is an early-stage, privately held company; it does not disclose customer names, revenue, or funding.

Press FAQ
What is AskOpenly?
AskOpenly is a private, sovereign enterprise knowledge intelligence platform. A team of AI agents retrieves across an organization's own documents, reasons over them, verifies every claim against its sources, and returns a grounded, cited answer — running on open models inside the customer's own environment, so institutional knowledge never leaves the building.
Who is AskOpenly for?
Regulated and sovereignty-conscious enterprises — finance, healthcare, legal, engineering, and government — that want enterprise-grade knowledge intelligence without shipping their most sensitive documents to someone else's cloud or being locked to a single proprietary model.
How is AskOpenly different from Glean, Microsoft Copilot, or Onyx?
Two things: sovereignty and verifiable answers. AskOpenly deploys privately — in your VPC or fully on-prem — and runs open models you control rather than a vendor's proprietary cloud model. And every answer is grounded in your sources, cited, and checked by a critic agent, so people can see exactly why an answer should be trusted.
Where does it run, and is any data sent to third parties?
AskOpenly runs where your data lives: a dedicated private cloud, inside your own AWS/Azure/GCP VPC, or fully on-premises or air-gapped. On self-hosted deployments there are no external API calls, and your data never trains anyone else's model.
Which AI models does it use?
Open-weight models the customer controls — such as Qwen, Llama, and DeepSeek — served via Ollama or vLLM, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Per-role routing lets each step of the pipeline use the model best suited to it.
How does AskOpenly handle security and compliance?
Multi-tenant isolation with database row-level security, document-level access controls, role-based access control, in-stream PII redaction, and full audit logging are built in, with SSO and SCIM for enterprise identity. SOC 2 Type II is in progress, and the architecture is designed to align with GDPR and HIPAA requirements.
Is AskOpenly generally available, and how do I get access?
AskOpenly is enterprise-only and accessed by invitation. Qualified organizations can request a private evaluation deployed on their own terms at askopenly.ai/request-demo.
How is AskOpenly priced?
As a private, single-customer deployment on an annual enterprise agreement — not a shared multi-tenant SaaS you rent seats on. Pricing is scoped to the deployment model, scale, and support level.
